I am mostly a self taught painter, though I come from an artistic family and have since studied with many great painters, I am a SCAD graduate and I teach art at the high school level. I have always had a paintbrush in my hand, but did not realize my path as a painter until 2006. Since then, I have studied with Millie Gosch, Gene Costanza, Jill Steenhuis, Roger Dale Brown, Marc Chatov, Scott Christensen, Greg LaRock, Sherrie McGraw, Ken DeWaard, Marc Hanson, and James Richards. This blog chronicles my journey as a painter. Most paintings are for sale; however, I hang on to some for a while as studies until larger pieces are complete. I enjoy the challenge of commissions, although I am selective about the subject matter and want to ensure a good fit between the commissioner's vision and mine as an artist. I am a member of OPA and AIS and have exhibited with them nationally and regionally. I received an honorable mention at AIS in 2013 from judge, Kevin McPherson.
